Jennifer Maklan

Ayurvedic Practitioner

My Story -

After graduating college, I experienced digestive issues daily, panic attacks, and periodic insomnia. I knew pharmaceuticals would only suppress the problem, create uncomfortable side-effects and make me feel that I was not at my best. So instead, I sought out natural approaches. I tried Macrobiotics, fasting, The Master Cleanse, supplements, as well as talk therapy. I started a regular yoga practice and experimented with meditation. But things got worse before they got better. Periodically I ended up on the floor, shaking with fear from panic attacks. I finally found relief from an Ayurvedic Practitioner who gave me some unusual remedies that healed my panic attacks.
He also showed me how I should create health according to my Ayurvedic body type. This information was life-changing.

I worked in Ayurveda for many years before becoming a practitioner. Though this was satisfying work, my friends, family, and coworkers (average healthy people), were suffering with problems like low energy, poor digestion and altered moods. I lost a friend to suicide in 2018 and decided then to study it formally. I needed to learn Ayurveda so I could use my understanding and experience to help others with their health.
I studied classical Ayurveda with the first Western woman to graduate from an Ayurvedic university in India, Jessica Vellela, BAMS. That training was vastly different from typical Ayurveda training in the U.S. In my experience, classical Ayurveda is far more effective in practice.
My clients today are seeking an alternative to Western care and guidance with their diet. They know an alternative way is available and realize they can't do it on their own. What's wonderful is that the positive results I see from Ayurveda continue to amaze me.

TESTIMONIALS

I had been struggling with digestive issues for at least 9 months prior to working with Jennifer. The digestive issues were starting to cause quite a bit of pain and discomfort. I almost dreaded eating meals because I knew I was going to have pain, gas, and bloating if I ate anything. At this point, the only time I have digestion issues is when I veer off my diet and eat foods that are not good for my constitution, are unhealthy, or when I overeat. My digestion is greatly improved. Jennifer has helped be an expert guide in helping me along this path which has given me more energy, mental clarity, and a better quality of life allowing me to thrive in my relationships, work, school, and life.

Thank you for your support. I’m so grateful I listened to myself, reached out and got you. I feel supported and encouraged and wonder where I’d be now if I hadn’t found you and a better way to aim for every day. Thank you for everything.
